My boyfriend, John, and I have a 5 year old chocolate lab who is an important member of our family, so when we booked a weekend in Niagara Falls last spring we wanted to make sure he stayed somewhere that didn't just put him in a concrete kennel.
We had heard of Hounds On Holiday through John's sister-in-law; she works with a lady whose family takes dogs into their home for Hounds On Holiday. That sounded like a great idea!!
As this was the first holiday we were taking without Murphy I was really nervous leaving him, but that all changed after we received our holiday updates and photos! He had a terrific time because he was thoroughly exhausted and his host family had done up a booklet for us showing pictures of Murphy at Guelph lake and local parks. His host family has a dog named Ben who Murphy loved to swim and play with.
John and I just returned yesterday from a week in Cuba and Murphy got to visit Ben and Ben's family for 9 days. I had absolutely no reservations leaving Murphy for his holiday as we were leaving for ours. I could enjoy my week in the sun and not have to worry about how Murphy was doing. My only worry was that Murphy would not want to come back home with us after going to parks and lakes daily. As it turns out he needed to come home for a rest! As the saying goes, a tired lab is a good lab!
I have recommended and will continue to recommend Hounds On Holiday to anyone who is looking to board their dog. Murphy is already looking forward to his next holiday with them!
P.S. Murph is flaked out on the bed, so tired after his terrific holiday!
Sincerely,
